The Wheat Blues Quilled CardThis card started with the blue textured paper and a tiny scrap of silk paper.  I absolutely love both paper types and never want to waste a tiny piece of it.

I quilled the wheat stalks and they seemed to go perfect with the blue textured paper.   The blue accentuates the tan quilling strips used in the wheat stalks.

This card is for sell in my etsy shop.  Pop over and take a look.

Okay! I am catching up on my posting today. This is the second of at least three postings I know I want to make. This blog is like most things - I want to make sure it stays up to date, but it has a way of getting away from me! Truly I think it isLife’s a Piece of Cake becuase I do not want to drag my camera out and take a pic of just one item - so I wait till I have several. But I will try to start posting on a daily basis, I promise.

Okay! Now to the piece of cake! A simple cake slice box, some simple twirls and twists of quilling and Lifes A Piece of Cake Detailwow! a piece of cake that is non-fattening (only because you would not eat paper) but definitely tempting.

The cake slice template can be found here!

Friends are the FlowersThis is my best piece of quilling to date — in my opinion. Simple flowers adorn this very true saying “Friends are the flowers in the garden of life”.

While I was quilling this I was thinking of my best friend who is always there for me. She listens to me, calls when I do not get hold of her. And irregardless of what I tell her or how much I vent, she still loves me. She also trusts me enough to vent and share with me. How incredible! I went the majority of my life without a friend like her — and I know many people go their entires lives without someone to share with. I consider myself blessed knowing that no matter how far apart we are, she is always there for me.

I have found so much relaxation in this art form. Just to listen to some good music, quill a beautiful bunch of flowers — it takes me away.

Was Thinking of You Kite Fold CardTea bag Folding and Quilling come together on this beautiful “Thinking of You” card. The rich blues and pinks in the kite folding tile pop against the ivory decorative paper background. The outside of the card reads “was thinking of you today …” and the inside reads “.. and just wanted you to know how important you are to me.”

I made this while exploring the art of tea bag folding. I have to admit that I have been spending more time quilling than tea bag folding, but not because I did not like it. I love the process. It is once again a matter of ‘too much to do, too little time’.

I hope you enjoy looking at this card. Leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

Split Blues Greeting CardWho says the color blue is depressing? Blue is considered beneficial to the mind and body. It slows human metabolism and produces a calming effect. Blue is strongly associated with tranquility and calmness. In heraldry, blue is used to symbolize piety and sincerity. When you add the white - associated with light, goodness, innocence, purity, and virginity - this card portrays all that is good in the world.
